Better habitats in quarry ponds for angling – Putting science to practice

Putting science into practice – that’s what the DATIPilot Sprint Fishing Waters is all about: scaling innovative and ecologically sustainable methods of water management by fishing clubs.

We supported Bremen University of Applied Sciences in designing and moderating its twelve workshops. This enabled us to strengthen fishing clubs and improve habitats in their waters.

During the  workshops, anglers learned about specific information for planning, applying for and implementing deadwood and shallow water zones. The moderation concept repeatedly allowed space for discussions in small and large groups. This enabled participants to transfer relevant information directly to their clubs.

This type of event benefits from separating technical expertise and moderation: the discussion becomes more structured and the experts can concentrate on their expertise. At the same time, event series with a lot of input and little potential for conflict are also easy to moderate for people with little experience. This is a good opportunity to train people in your own working group. We therefore offered our combination of moderation and in-house training for the university.

Are you wondering whether you would prefer to moderate yourself or have someone else moderate? – Read our blog posts:
